Meningitis UK funds lifesaving research into finding a vaccine to eradicate meningitis.
Although there are vaccines to protect against some forms of meningitis, there is still no vaccine to protect against all strains, including the most common in the UK - Meningitis B, which causes almost 90% of all cases and is most prevalent in children under the age of five.
Meningitis UK has a sole focus - to find a vaccine to protect against all forms of meningitis and associated diseases.
Great advances have been made in the fight against meningitis over the last 20 years and we believe more than ever that with continued support and persistent research, our vision can be achieved.

Meningitis UK launch Big Bug Hunt for 0-5 year olds
Are you a play leader in a play-group or nursery? Are you looking for new ways to keep the little ones entertained and happy, while meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage goals? Then the Big Bug Hunt is for you. This event, which ran successfully throughout September and October 2008 has now been extended until February 2009.
